About Us
Ribble Valley Tree Services. Who are they? A family run firm established for over 20 years, with over 35 years of experience.
Tyrone Morgan 52 the gaffer, Gerrard Morgan 27 son of the gaffer, Steve Appleton 55, Mariusz Urbonski 40, Janet Morgan Secretary/Book-keeper and a number of sub-contractors and colleagues.
Like a lot of lads my age, my early years (7 - 15yrs) of training involved climbing up to the top of any tree in the local woods. Yes I thought I was Tarzan flying ropes swings and monkey tree houses. The best bit in Autumn was to climb up the biggest conker tree with the most conkers on shaking all the conkers down like a shower, with one or two snapped branches and the odd fall trying to get the last conker on the end of that branch.
After leaving school in 1980 my first job was at Bramley Meade Maternity Home in Whalley as a Handyman/Gardener and the occasional delivery of plants not babies. My next great experience was at Brown Leaves Nursery in Copster Green growing and selling plants allowing me to gain great knowledge and experience of plants and shrubs as well as valuable tree knowledge. Being a gardener at Brockhall Hospital gave me my first glimpse of what tree work was about. I used to see the tree surgeons carrying out their work and thought that looks cool, I wouldn't mind trying my hand at that.
My fourth job led to a move to Manchester and a position at a prestige park in Tameside. A big step up from the level of gardening I was used to. I gained skills in a top class park and learnt a lot from the experience. The men I worked with and the training I was given was invaluable and after 2 years a vacancy came up within the council and I couldn't wait to apply. The interview was in the park where I was working and it involved me climbing up to the top of the tree (rope & harness firmly in place) and then branch walking, pruning the odd branch with a chainsaw. I loved it and I was up against three other candidates. I was asked a few questions about why and what and one week later I got the job. 5 years later and with plenty of weekend work to my name I moved back home to Langho, Blackburn and set up my business Tree Surgery & Landscaping gaining experience, qualifications and contacts along the way.
We are a friendly family business , from Acorn to Great OAKS grow. Not the biggest in the business but certainly one of the most friendliest. A business who listens to their customers' needs.

The work here included taking down a large conifer hedge 80 metres long, cutting down with the old stumps ground out as well as all the branches chipped in preparation for a new fence to go up.
